about

This is the first song I wrote for the new CD. I just read the beginning of Frankenstein and thought I might do another theme CD and while many of these tracks have a common thread, I ended up not going full on Eternity with it.

lyrics

Tragedy at Sea
by Robert Hazelton

We’re pulling down the line again
The ice has taken hold
The wind is unforgiving
We’re a thousand miles from home

The rigging fell into the sea
The mast breached the hull
The ice melts, we go down
A thousand miles from home

Lives will come and go
I’m the only one with hope
Lives will come and go
I’m charting the unknown

The wind is whipping up
Its howls could chill the bone
A cry breaks out through the mist
A monster in the snow

The men believe the devil’s come
To take away my soul
A shadow falls upon the ice
A thousand miles from home

Lives will come and go
I’m the only one with hope
Lives will come and go
I’m charting the unknown

A figure stumbles from the fog
His eyes ablaze with rage
He calls us all to take up arms
Before his charge escapes

I shout him down there’s nothing there
A phantom in the cold
I’ve come too far to lose him now
A thousand miles from home

Lives will come and go
I’m the only one with hope
Lives will come and go
I’m charting the unknown
